The Dukes of
Hazzard was a popular TV series that ran from 1979-1984. The
Dukes of Hazzard was so well loved that it can still be seen
rerunning today. The Dukes of Hazzard were Bo, Luke, Daisy
and Uncle Jesse Duke. They all lived
together on a farm in Hazzard County, a fictional place somewhere in
the South. The plotlines on The Dukes of Hazzard mostly
consisted of the Duke Boys speeding around, being chased by the
town leader, Boss Hogg, and his sheriff, Roscoe P. Coltrane.
The Duke Boys were never really doing anything wrong, but
were on the run in every show. The original Dukes of Hazzard

One very memorable cast member of The Dukes of Hazzard,
was the Dukes' car -- a Dodge Charger named the General Lee.
The General Lee was orange with a Rebel flag on top.
Whenever Bo and Luke
jumped over something in the General Lee, its horn would play
Dixie.
Another popular Dukes of
Hazzard character was Daisy Duke. Daisy wore extremely short
cut-off shorts on The Dukes of Hazzard. In fact, short
cut-offs are now routinely called "Daisy Dukes." They've
even inspired a song or two!
The two main Dukes of Hazzard
characters were Bo and Luke Duke. These two Dukes of Hazzard
were, like the theme song says, "two modern-day Robinhoods."
The Dukes of Hazzard were always trying to do good deeds for
people with a little help from the General Lee. The problem,
was that their good deeds usually foiled the dastardly deeds of
Boss Hogg. So, on several occassions, the Dukes of Hazzard
would wind up in jail, and Uncle Jesse would have to bail them
out.
